Not settling for inactivity during the pandemic, Visit Scotland worked hard to ensure that associations find their match when visiting Scotland. Scottish government policy areas tie into association conferences and some of activities are being put in place to ensure these events have positive impacts in Scotland, away from the conference hall.
Three major events, among others, have been secured for Scotland for 2022 promoting not only the local economy but also creating a long term positive transformation. The Organisation for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) was held in June 2022 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow showcasing the city’s city of applied science and research sector. The Association for the Study of Medical Education Annual Scholarship Meeting took place in July 2022 in Aberdeen at P&J Live, linking to Scotland’s goal to help attract and support new entrants into the area of nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals. Finally, Edinburgh will host the sixth International Symposium on Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (PIBD) at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) advancing the government’s goals in the sector.
