The Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) announced comprehensive measures that are designed to make the meetings industry recover as fast and as efficiently as possible.
The support obviously comes in response to the pandemic. A aptly named Reassuring Package has, for instance, been introduced as an effective safeguard for meetings participants when business resumes within the year, providing the necessary safety aids during a stay like emergency medical insurance, language services, general concierge services for hotel and transportation reservations.
There is also the new Virtual Seoul platform – which Boardroom recently wrote about – for which not only the 3D graphics are offered at no charge, but as much as KRW 10 million is given as a stipend for operating expenses.
Furthermore, as more attention is focused towards sustaining the local meetings industry, attracting international conferences has become more important than ever. Application requirements have eased to widen the opportunities for event planners to receive the appropriate supports when hosting an international conference. These customized supports at the bidding phase include thorough consultation, official supporting letters, presentation tips and a maximum of KRW 200 million during the hosting phase.
