The Association of Association Executives Expands to Africa

13th April 2018

The Association of Association Executives has launched a new event to include Africa in its series of congresses. The Africa Associations Congress will take place 29 – 31 October 2018 at the CSIR International Convention Centre (CSIR ICC) in Pretoria, South Africa. Themed ‘Transformation’, the congress is designed for Pan-African, Regional and National associations in Africa and also for International associations with members in Africa.

When asked why this was the right time to organise such a conference, Damian Hutt, Executive Director of the Association of Association Executives, said: At the AAE we have a growing number of members and subscribers in Africa, now over three thousand, as well as delegates from South Africa to our Associations World Congress earlier this year. We have been researching and assembling the building blocks for our Africa Associations Congress since 2015, including a marketer based in Kenya and our Global Development Director who is based in South Africa, who came on board last November.”

The programme will include streams for association leaders and strategists and streams for operation executives. The topics will include transformation through: organisational purpose, cultural transformation, best practice governance, membership engagement and value; transformational technology; conference transformation through content, marketing, sales and value, and more.

With the launch of this congress, Damian Hutt is committed to leaving a legacy in the african continent. He said: “Our commitment to Africa association and society executives is to provide valuable information, education and introduce vital business partners that will help them develop their organisations and member value, driving forward professions and trades throughout the continent.”
