The International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO), has recently shared its members’ statistics for 2021, on the occasion of the Global Meetings Industry Day 2022. Even though employment was impacted by a 20% decrease, up to 99% of the members decided to stay with the association despite all the problems caused by the pandemic.
The statistics also showed that association events were considered necessary to the society, hence continuing in different formats throughout the pandemic. Virtual and hybrid event formats helped increase significantly the number of attendees.
“Collectively, our members have doubled the number of attendees from 2019.Reaching new audiences, providing accessibility and inclusivity for all around the globe has been a positive outcome of these virtual and hybrid formats,” said Martin Boyle, IAPCO CEO.
