Accessibility And Inclusion In Seoul

Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) has been promoting accessibility for the elderly and the disabled since 2019 as part of the plan tho have everyone enjoy the city at the fullest. In order to provide information and raise awareness, STO created the ‘Universal Tourism Environment Creation Project’. The city’s efforts found recognition this year, as the city won the grand prize at the first Seoul Universal Design Awards.

Seoul Danurim Accessible Tourism Center offers residents and tourists access by wheelchair to numerous places around the city with services like the operation of wheelchair accessible vehicles and travel assistive device rentals. The service includes delivery of portable ramps and wheelchair lifts. Business tourists can also make a reservation for “recommended tours” in advance to use the vehicle at no cost.
