New research from Tourism Australia‘s business events unit reveals a strong comeback for Australia’s business events industry, signaling a brighter future compared to a year ago.
The 2023 Business Events Consumer Demand Project (CDP) surveyed decision makers in North America, the UK, Europe, and key Australian markets. Key findings include:
According to the survey, over 90% of decision makers organized events in the past year, a 32% increase from 2022, while global uncertainty and financial factors impact short-term confidence but don’t affect future budgets, with 90% planning to maintain or increase budgets. Furthermore, Australia is the top incentive destination across 22 attributes, including excellent facilities, value for money, and safety.
It shows improved perceptions of Australia for association decision makers and a growing intent to plan events in Australia, as well as rising interest in Australian Indigenous experiences for association events.
