Copenhagen Wins Bid to Host World’s Largest Law Congress

31st May 2024

Copenhagen has won the bid to host the Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) in 2026, attracting over 6,000 international legal professionals to the Danish capital.

The IBA, representing members from approximately 180 countries, chose Copenhagen after a meticulous selection process, culminating a year-long collaboration between Danske Advokater, Advokatsamfundet, Bella Center, and the Copenhagen Convention Bureau.

“We’re incredibly excited that Copenhagen will host the IBA Congress in 2026. Together with our partners, we’ve been working on attracting this congress since 2014, and we feel confident that Copenhagen will provide an amazing urban setting for this prestigious event,” remarked Bettina Reventlow-Mourier, Deputy Convention Director at Wonderful Copenhagen.

Scheduled to take place over five days in autumn 2026 at the Bella Center, the congress is expected to significantly boost local tourism and business sectors.

Copenhagen is now gearing up to host other major events, such as the World of Coffee Congress this June and the WindEurope Annual Event in 2025.
