The International Hospital Federation (IHF) has announced that Geneva, Switzerland, will host the 48th World Hospital Congress from 10 to 13 November 2025 at the International Conference Centre of Geneva (CICG).
This event, held for the first time in Geneva, will be hosted by the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG) and the Canton of Geneva.
Alain-Dominique Mauris, President of the HUG Executive board said: “The University Hospital of Geneva has a legacy of nurturing networks and collaborations. Its deep commitment to global knowledge exchange and sustainability in the healthcare sector underpins our vision for the organisation of this event with IHF and our national partners.”
The Congress, attracting around 1,500 participants from over 90 countries, will feature sessions, masterclasses, forums, workshops, hospital visits, and the IHF Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner.
Sustainability will be a key focus, influenced by the IHF’s Geneva Sustainability Centre. The event will also include the i-to-i Innovation Hub, showcasing impactful healthcare innovations.
Geneva Minister for Health and Mobility, Pierre Maudet observed: “Geneva is home to over 40 international organisations and 400 NGOs and its ability to forge impactful partnerships on a global scale is renowned. Geneva is excited to welcome the IHF Congress and thus contribute to further advancing shared global goals in healthcare.”
