Gothenburg Becomes Epicentre for International Dental Experts

14th June 2024

This week, Gothenburg hosts nearly 1,000 European paediatric dentists at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.

This event is part of a series of major conferences in June, attracting over 4,000 participants for around ten diverse meetings.

The 17th Congress of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) runs from 12 to 15 June, focusing on “Handling Children with Care” to improve dental health for children and adolescents.

Nina Sabel, Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg, highlights Sweden’s leadership in paediatric dental care: “Good oral health is crucial for children’s overall health and well-being.”

Gothenburg’s conference calendar includes the Mucins in Health and Disease Conference during Midsummer week, featuring Nobel laureate Carolyn Bertozzi from Stanford University.

“June is traditionally a good month for large meetings and conferences. This year, Gothenburg is hosting meetings on various subjects such as medicine, technology, social work, and sustainable innovations. Several of the conferences held so far have attracted more participants than we expected, which is very exciting,” says Fredrik Lundgren, project manager at Gothenburg Convention Bureau.
