HUNGEXPO at its Best with Major Neurology Congress

17th August 2023

The beginning of July was an important period for Budapest, as the city successfully held the 9th Annual Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN).

Held at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Centre, the four-day event was attended by 5748 visitors and 1974 virtual visitors representing 116 countries.

The venue was a great fit for the congress, with its 30,000 square metres of exhibition space used to host a wide range of events, like lectures, workshops, opening and closing ceremonies.

The event was planned in a sustainable way. Local filtered watered was used everywhere; vegetarian and vegan dishes were dominant; and disposable plastic utensils were completely banned.

Head of the EAN Congress Department, Peter Hofmann, said: “This was our first congress held away from the EAN’s base of Vienna since 2019 and the experience was great. The Hungexpo proved to be an outstanding venue, appreciated by our sponsors, participants, and board alike, and the local team was eager to fulfil our demands and expectations.”
