Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced the construction of a new space adjacent to the Kuching Convention Centre.
“We have decided to extend our convention centre with another building that will allow not only conventions, but also exhibitions. It will be the right place for exhibitions in Kuching,” he said.
Completion of the new building is expected by the year 2024 in order to host a major convention on hydrogen at the new venue.
The government’s future plans include the construction of another convention centre in Miri, aiming at strengthening the region’s attraction to high-level tourism.
