With a focus on the value of meetings and events in driving economic regeneration, reconnecting stakeholders and delivering success and impact on most sectors, the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has launched a series of initiatives towards this goal.
The 3R Initiative – Reset, Restart, Responsible, includes supporting Malaysian companies to maintain membership with international associations, comprehensive upskilling programmes and certification, and provide incentive to international delegates. To ease international delegates, MySafe Business Events Planner incorporates real-time information and links to relevant websites for event organisers and delegates to help plan a safe journey to the country.
On the infrastructure side, Sabah launched in 2020 their new Sabah International Convention Center (SICC), equipped with high-tech facilities and six hectares of multi-function space.
“This is where the bureau plays its role as the central agency to facilitate and invite more future business events to Malaysia in hope that initiatives such as these will reassure and strengthen both the public and international confidence in Malaysia’s meetings and business events industry, subsequently boosting the recovery of our economy in endemic times,” said Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.
