In the latest ICCA City Rankings for 2023, Paris has appeared as the foremost destination for international association meetings, hosting 156 such events.
Singapore follows closely, securing the second position with 152 meetings, while Lisbon ranks third with 151. Vienna and Barcelona complete the top five, hosting 141 and 139 meetings respectively, further highlighting the dominance of European cities in these rankings.
The top ten list also includes Prague, Rome, Madrid, and Dublin. Seoul, in tenth place, is the only other Asian city to feature in the top ten.
Commenting on this achievement, Corinne Menegaux, Managing Director of Paris je t’aime – Tourist Office, said: “We are delighted with this result, but above all proud to see that our efforts to support the congresses in our sectors of excellence are bearing fruit. The launch of our Hospitality Manifesto, a collective commitment built with tourism professionals, optimises and strengthens the hosting of major events in our region.”
ICCA’s Research Team, in collaboration with its members, compiled comprehensive data on almost 10,000 meetings held worldwide in 2023. This year’s report is particularly notable for its increased representation from Latin America and Oceania in the top 20 country rankings, in addition to the usual representation from Europe, Asia, and North America.
A significant highlight is the strong performance of Asian destinations, with Singapore’s ranking in the top five reflecting the region’s growing competitiveness in the international meetings market.
In the country rankings, the USA continues to lead with 690 rotating meetings.
