The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) has been named the winner of this year’s Incredible Impacts Programme, a joint initiative by the BestCities Global Alliance and the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), at the 62nd ICCA Congress in Bangkok.
ACWW’s groundbreaking Women’s Empowerment Summit in Khovd Province, Mongolia, brought together 300 survivors of domestic violence for training and community-building.
The initiative, co-funded by UNESCO, showcased ACWW’s commitment to driving real change through passion, education, and creativity.
In recognition of their outstanding work, ACWW will receive a $20,000 USD grant for future projects. The summit’s success serves as a global inspiration, urging associations to push boundaries for positive and lasting impacts on communities.
Loren Christie, Managing Director of BestCities Global Alliance, stated that “their work is an important reminder that meetings can spark dialogue, shift perspectives, and achieve systemic change,” while Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA, emphasized the program’s transformative potential, saying, “This innovative project shows how dramatically life-changing the work of an association can be.”
Special recognition was given to the finalists, The British Society of Soil Science, and The European Cyclists’ Federation, for their exceptional submissions.
