Sustainability Hub for Events Officially Launches

9th October 2024

After a successful beta phase at IMEX Frankfurt, the Sustainability Hub for Events (SHE) has officially launched to the public.

Developed by Gevme in collaboration with the Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE) initiative and the Strategic Alliance of National Convention Bureaux of Europe (SANCBE), SHE aims to streamline sustainable event planning with AI-driven insights.

The platform now includes a Learning Module, offering personalised educational content on critical sustainability topics like carbon offsetting and eco-friendly travel. It also introduces tools for event legacy planning, helping organisers ensure lasting sustainability impacts.

SHE’s AI model, upgraded with the latest large language models (LLMs), delivers more tailored and precise recommendations, assisting organisers in navigating complex sustainability data.

Global contributors such as Copenhagen, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands have enriched the platform with valuable data, strengthening its capabilities.

“We’re excited to open access to a tool shaped by global input,” said Alexander Alles, Executive Director of JMIC. “The new features make it easier for planners to reduce their environmental impact.”

The platform, available in over 30 languages, is now accepting wider contributions and is set to evolve continuously as the industry advances.
