Dubai Exhibition Centre Builds for the Next Generation of Global Events

3rd November 2026

Dubai World Trade Centre is advancing the AED10 billion expansion of Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai, significantly increasing the city’s capacity to host major international congresses and exhibitions.

The first phase, completed in 2026, expanded the venue to 140,000 m² of indoor event space and increased its daily visitor capacity to 50,000. The remaining development will progress in two stages:

  • Phase 2: approximately 160,000 m² and capacity for 60,000 daily visitors by 2029;
  • Phase 3: 180,000 m² across 26 interconnected halls by 2031;
  • Final capacity: more than 20 simultaneous events or one large-scale global gathering.

The completed venue will extend for 1.2 kilometres and include expanded concourses, service areas, road access and parking. The additional capacity is intended to give established events room to grow while strengthening Dubai’s ability to bid for international meetings previously beyond its available scale.

The development comes as DWTC prepares to deliver more than 100 exhibitions, conferences and business events across Dubai Exhibition Centre and its city-centre venue during the final quarter of 2026. The calendar includes major platforms spanning technology, manufacturing, construction, energy and automotive industries.
