Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau and a division of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, has secured 504 successful bids for international business events in 2025; a 15% year-on-year increase that further strengthens Dubai’s standing as a premier hub for global congresses.
The events are expected to bring more than 272,000 delegates through 2029, catalysing growth across the city’s knowledge economy and tourism ecosystem.
“Guided by the vision of our leadership, business events continue to play a pivotal role in supporting Dubai’s economic growth, knowledge economy, and global positioning,” said Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment.
The momentum is closely aligned with the ambitions of Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to position the city among the top three global destinations for business and leisure. Beyond the headline figures, 2025 saw Dubai host 481 DBE-supported events and submit 747 new bids, both representing year-on-year increases.
Wins such as the World Ophthalmology Congress 2028, SIBOS 2029, and World Engineers Congress 2027demonstrate the city’s growing appeal across high-value, knowledge-led sectors.
“As we look ahead to 2026, we remain focused on deepening collaboration with our partners and stakeholders alike… to create long-term value for the city, organisers and delegates alike,” Al Khaja added.
This performance is supported by DBE’s sustained engagement through platforms such as IMEX, IBTM and its Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme, as well as partnerships with global organisations including BestCities Global Alliance, ICCA, ASAE and IAPCO.
