International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, hosted a truly inclusive LGBQTIA+ Sydney WorldPride Human Rights Conference.
Over 2,000 in person delegates, 1,200 remote and 203 international delegates from 57 countries gathered to discuss human rights and LGBQTIA+ issues.
“ICC Sydney were great collaborative partners from the very beginning of this event and were incredibly aligned in the values we were trying to achieve. Whether it be accessibility, diversity or inclusion, the team shared our dedication in ensuring our delegates felt safe, accepted, and welcomed in the venue,” said Kate Wickett, CEO, Sydney WorldPride.
Sydney’s commitment to sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion was in tandem with the conference’s values.
In addition to the venue’s accessibility, sustainability and inclusion services, additional elements were added in order to meet the needs of the delegates: Auslan interpreters, international sign language (ISL) interpreters, LiveVoice smartphone app, non-gendered bathroom signage, waste planning legislation modifications, and First Nations representation were some of the many implementations during the event.
