22nd April 2024

This week, Melbourne goes into the global health spotlight by hosting the inaugural World Health Summit Regional Meeting (WHSRM) 2024.

The summit, supported by the Melbourne Convention Bureau, Monash University, the Victorian Government, and Tourism Australia’s Business Events Bid Fund Program, will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22nd to 24th April.

Julia Swanson, Chief Executive of the Melbourne Convention Bureau, said: “Healthcare conferences provide opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing, which can inspire and lead to significant breakthroughs that can deliver measurable and meaningful impacts on health outcomes. Excellent infrastructure and joint collaborations between universities, research institutes and hospitals have created a city where the world’s brightest minds gather to inspire, innovate and create real change in world-leading research and development.”

The summit will bring together experts and policymakers to discuss strategies for improving health outcomes in the Asia-Pacific over the next decade.

With over 40 sessions planned, the event is expected to trigger discussions on leveraging existing strengths and necessary systemic changes to enhance global health.
