Warsaw to Host Prestigious Conference on Heritage Studies

26th June 2024

Warsaw has been selected to host the Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS) 2028 conference, the world’s largest event for heritage researchers.

The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, alongside the newly established UNESCO Chair for Public and Global Processes of Cultural Heritage Management, will host the event. This marks the first time the biennial conference, which draws about 600 global delegates, will be held in Poland.

Dr hab. Hanna Schreiber from the University of Warsaw played a key role in securing Warsaw’s bid, supported by Andrzej Jakubowski of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Monika Stobiecka of the University of Warsaw, and Paweł Mrowiński from the university’s Promotion Office. The event will be organised by Symposium Cracoviense.

Support from the Warsaw Convention Bureau, Warsaw Tourism Organisation, and the Polish Tourism Organisation highlights their commitment to promoting Warsaw as an international centre for scientific and cultural meetings.
