European Congress of Radiology Commits to Vienna Until 2035

6th November 2026

The European Congress of Radiology will remain at the Austria Center Vienna until 2035, extending a partnership that began in 1991.

Organised by the European Society of Radiology, ECR is one of Europe’s largest medical meetings and the world’s second-largest radiology congress. The 2026 edition attracted 22,418 participants from 121 countries and more than 220 exhibitors, making it the venue’s largest international congress.

Peter Baierl, Executive Director of the European Society of Radiology, cited the Austria Center Vienna’s continued investment in infrastructure, technology and event concepts. “This openness to further development was a key reason for our decision to continue our successful partnership until 2035,” he said.

The nine-year extension gives Vienna’s meetings and hospitality sectors valuable long-term stability while allowing the partners to continue developing immersive congress formats. The venue’s flexible spaces, digital screens and polySTAGE support the innovative productions for which ECR is known.

The next congress will take place from 3 to 7 March 2027 under the theme “Healthcare Reimagined.”
